Close all browsers. I'm 100% with GGJstudios on this one. Pretty much all this kind of stuff is handled by the OS anyway, or with tools provided by Apple for free. There's rarely any need for third party stuff like this. The monthly script reports per-user usage accounting and rotates — depending on the version of Mac OS X — the wtmp, , and files. The thing is that these scripts do just about nothing of great importance. If they don't run for weeks, or even months, it's just not a big deal. So, despite the fact that these are called "maintenance routines," don't get concerned if they haven't run in a long time. Don't ignore this entirely, though, because if your Mac has a minor problem, in time failure to run the maintenance scripts will allow your Mac's hard drive to fill up with a bunch of invisible log files filled will message about that minor problem.
